Dr. Sheehy is a native of Columbus and a graduate of Columbus High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University. He attended Northwestern University School of Medicine. After completing his internship and Internal Medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, he returned to Columbus.

Dr. Sheehy and his wife Kathleen have three grown children. The Sheehys are members of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.

Dr. Sheehy has served Bartholomew County as County Coroner and as a School Board member, including two years as Board President. He is currently a board member of the Bartholomew Area Hospice and serves as Medical Director of SIHO.

Dr. Sheehy joined Columbus Internal Medicine Associates in August 1977. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
